Monitoring Piezometers — v2.9c

Tracking and managing monitoring piezometer networks: groundwater level readings, history, export and alerts. A single control panel for all structures on a site.

Features

From field reading to network monitoring

Structure inventory

Record per piezometer: reference point, coordinates, measurement reference point elevation, depth, screen, monitored aquifer and condition of the structure.

Groundwater level readings

Entry of measurement surveys: water depth, piezometric elevation automatically calculated from the reference point elevation, operator and measurement conditions.

History & time series

Piezometric time series per structure over the entire monitoring period, cross-structure comparison and reading of seasonal groundwater fluctuations.

Threshold alerts

Definition of high and low thresholds per piezometer. Automatic flagging of exceedances as soon as a reading is entered.

Survey summary

Summary table of the entire network for a given survey: piezometric elevations, deviations from the previous survey, structures on alert.

Export & archiving

Export of readings and time series for inclusion in the monitoring report. Full-network JSON export / import for archiving or transfer between workstations.

Method

Principle of piezometric monitoring

Monitoring a site relies on a network of piezometers read at regular intervals. The tool centralizes the structure inventory, measurement surveys and the associated history.

Piezometric elevation

Piezometric elevation = reference point elevation − measured water depth. The reference point elevation is entered once in the structure's record; each depth reading is automatically converted, eliminating conversion errors in the field.

Time series and fluctuation

The complete history of each structure makes it possible to read the seasonal fluctuation of the water table and to distinguish a natural variation from a trend that requires monitoring.

Thresholds and alerts

High and low thresholds can be defined structure by structure. Any out-of-range reading is flagged as soon as it is entered and included in the survey summary.

The software does not replace the expertise of the SSP Engineer (contaminated land), nor any requests from the DREAL, the DDT(M), the project owner or the inspection body.

Deliverables

From field readings to the monitoring report

Survey tables

Complete summary of the network for each survey: piezometric elevations, deviations and structures on alert.

Piezometric time series

History per structure over the entire monitoring period, ready for inclusion in the annual monitoring report.

JSON export / import

The complete network and its readings — for archiving, sharing between workstations or handover of monitoring to another party.
